Memories From Vision Purple 2013-16

Vision purple is a biological pigment in photoreceptor cells located in the retina, which allows for sight in low light conditions. This transitional period for the eye to adjust is a magical time where the mind and sight are not fully aligned with reality. Paintings in the series are derived from automatic drawings, some of which are over forty years old. These were originally drawn WHILE IN VIETNAM - 1969. THEY WERE visual notes to ensure I would never forget these moments, some wonderful, some completely tragic.
